FAQ
Do I need therapy?
We all go through difficulties in life. Some of the challenges can seem hard to face alone. In such times it can be deeply valuable to be supported by someone who can help you explore and understand those difficulties and their causes. Doing so might help reveal your inner resources and capacities to be with whatever life brings, and to live life more authentically aligned with your own deep innate sense of truth.
How many sessions will I need?
A specific issue might be processed in 12 sessions. Most people stay on as they become aware of other things they'd like to explore. In my practice, people tend to stay between 1 to 2 years, some more, some less. Many choose to return and go deeper into their process as their life unfolds.
I also suggest that once a cycle of work has been completed, it is important to take a break (a few months) to allow that work to be digested and integrated into day-to-day life, before returning for another cycle of work.
How often will we meet?
Meeting weekly at the same time offers the best chance of achieving a successful therapeutic outcome, with natural breaks for holidays, etc. Meeting less than weekly often leads to the work becoming loose and not progressing as best as it could. For some people in crisis, meeting twice a week can be valuable for a short period of time. We can discuss what might work best for you when we meet.
